How To Remove Vocal Harmony In Audacity

how to remove vocals in audacity

The first thing you need to know how to remove vocals in Audacity is that there are two ways to do this. You can either do it manually or use a filter. I personally don't like the latter, as I feel like this method is very time consuming and sometimes results in weird sounds. I'll explain each method.

The first step, obviously, is to download Audacity to your computer. Now, its time to open your audio track in Audacity. To open your track in Audacity, go to the main icon at the bottom left corner of the screen called "Tools". To do this, click the right mouse button and select "Open Recording". You'll notice that a list of options will appear and the ones below are the same as in the previous step.

Clicking any of the items will show you a drop down menu of different values such as "volume", "gain level", "lp gain", "amp gain", "bias balance", "tone mapping" and more. Now click the "OK" button in order to save your track. The last step is to select "Remove Vocal Guitars" from the list of options and click the "OK" button. The item you just selected will now be unavailable until you mouse over it again.

The second step is the same as the first but this time you will be dealing with an audio file. To do this, go to the "audio tools" icon located on the "foobar" icon in the system tray. Click this icon and a new window will popup. Click "add new input". Here you simply click a blank text box and enter some text into the box.

Step 3 - Looking for the exact area where you heard your vocals. When you click "ls" you will see a list of currently loaded files. Look through this list for a file with the word "FOREME" somewhere in the name. Clicking on this track will take you to the track's label. There you will find the exact place where you heard your vocals. If you do not find one, simply move onto step 4!

Step 4 - If you still cannot find a specific audio track, you may need to experiment with different combinations of the steps above. This is because even though vocals are generally played in the left speaker, some tracks mix the left and right, even though the audio is played entirely in the right. Some people even mix the lyrics and the vocals, so make sure you have the option to play the audio in the right or left when removing vocals in Audacity.

Step 5 - The last thing you are going to do is edit the track. To edit a track, simply click the "Track" icon at the top of the mixer. Depending on your version of Windows, you will see a word called "FX Preset". Clicking this will bring up the main window of the audio software that lets you alter its settings. If you see a word called "Playback Preset", change the value in the drop down menu to the value "Mono". This will replace the mono audio with the stereo track.

If you followed all of the previous steps correctly, you should end up with one singular audio file that contains all of your vocals. One thing to be careful of is adding a new track to the mix if you did not change the mono track during the editing process. This will result in two separate tracks (one for each of your voices) which is the only way how to remove vocals in audacity. You can add a new track and place your vocals where you want them at the end of your track, but it is important to set both files to mono. If you do not do this, you will get two identical tracks instead of one.
